The Irving Sandler Artists File

The Irving Sandler Artists File is a digital artists registry regularly used by curators, artists, gallery owners, collectors, consultants, and students to discover the work of visual artists. Artists are encouraged to update their materials at least once every year, and an artist’s online file that has not been updated in two years will automatically* be removed and made inactive. (*A warning email will be sent 1 month prior to this date.)

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC)

BAC’s Online Artist Registry is a free listing of Brooklyn based artists which includes artist statements, contact information, web site links, and artwork* images for BAC members.
*For a $25 fee, an artist can upload 4 images onto the site.

BRIC Rotunda Gallery

Slide file and a computerized database utilized by gallery staff and is also consulted regularly by guest curators and independent art professionals searching for work on a wide range of projects. The Rotunda Gallery supports and promotes Brooklyn-affiliated artists: the Artist Registry is open to artists who were born in, live in, work in, or have a studio in the borough of Brooklyn.

The Drawing Center

The Drawing Center Artist Registry contains slides,photos, catalogues, cds/dvds, and documentation of artwork by artists who have participate(d) in the Viewing Program. Their work has been selected to be on file by The Drawing Center's curatorial committee. The Artist Registry is a public resource for contemporary drawing that is consulted by curators, gallerists, collectors, and art educators. Material must be updated at least every two years to remain on file. In order to assist researchers, the files are catalogued alphabetically and cross-referenced by style and media.

White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online digital register of images, slides, video and DVDs for emerging artists without commercial gallery representation in New York City chosen by the Director/Chief Curator. In order to be considered for the registry submit up to 15 images, a bio and artist statement. You must have an active email address to register for submission.
